biography
Siobhan Kolker's career spans opera, theatre, recital and cabaret. In 2002, she appeared in Kennedy Center's Sondheim Celebration (A Little Night Music, Merrily We Roll Along). More recently, she appeared as Venus in Offenbach's Orpheus in the Underworld this spring with Opera Vivente of Baltimore, where she has also sung Miss Jessel in Britten's The Turn of the Screw. Recent NYC highlights include a staged reading at The York Theatre Company last summer and a song recital program in November 2006 at Advent Lutheran Church in New York with other artists from the New Triad Recital Theater Workshop. Other New York credits include the New York International Fringe Festival, Verse Theatre Manhattan, One World Symphony and numerous staged readings of new musical and plays with Innovative Stages. Further regional credits include three seasons of leading and supporting roles with the Ohio Light Opera, several productions at The Washington Opera (now Washington National Opera) and ten seasons with Baltimore Opera Company, where she appeared both on the mainstage and in their educational outreach program of touring operas. Siobhan appeared as Julie (Carousel) in a critically acclaimed version at Toby's Dinner Theatre. She was also a member of D.C.'s musical comedy improv troupe, Now This! Leading operatic performances have also included the title role in Massenet's Chérubin, Serpina (La Serva Padrona), Meg Page (Falstaff) and Nancy (Albert Herring). Siobhan holds a B.M.A. in Voice and History from The University of Michigan and an M.M. from the Peabody Conservatory. She is currently on the voice faculties of the American Musical and Dramatic Academy and Turtle Bay Music School in New York City.
